Our Evolutionary Relationship to Infectious Disease by Oonagh Taeger, DHom(UK), PCH

In the media and in our communities we now see heightened fear of infectious disease. In a way this is perfectly understandable. Nobody likes the thought that their child could be carried off, or permanently damaged, by diseases such as diphtheria or polio.

But we may fail to remember that we are so truly a part of the natural world, that we owe our physical existence to the vast intelligence of nature, and the intricately balanced ecosystems in which humanity evolved. We have co-evolved with many of the organisms that medicine is trying to eradicate. From a holistic perspective, we have relationships with these organisms that we don’t yet fully understand. For example, Streptococcus, the microbe that may be the target of  the highest number of prescriptions of antibiotics for children, is a part of our normal healthy microbiome. It simply needs to be in balance within a healthy body.

Let us consider the possibility that our health as a species depends on the intelligence of nature. That nature formed us, and nature knows what we need. That the disease microbes that we have evolved with, far from being senseless killers, may in fact have a symbiotic relationship with us. In fact, there is now growing evidence that the disease organisms which we are trying to eradicate, or in many cases which we have virtually eradicated, are essential in the development of our healthy human immune system.

Homeopaths in times past commonly treated children as they went through what used to be the normal spate of childhood diseases, such as measles, mumps and chicken pox. They observed that following the recovery from these illnesses, children would often undergo a developmental spurt. This could be seen in physical growth, but also in learning. In a general way, they emerged from the illness more robust than before. The homeopathic explanation for this phenomenon is that the disease provided a way for the child to expel (heal) their “miasmatic inheritence” – the dross of epigenetically encoded patterns of disease passed down from previous generations.

In more recent times, we have a fascinating, growing body of research into the effects of homeoprophylaxis (HP), including its general effect on overall health. Large studies have been done by Kate Birch in the United States and by Dr. Isaac Golden in Australia. In both studies it has been found that the children who underwent HP had broad health effects beyond resistance to the specific diseases addressed in the HP program. They had lower rates of allergies and other chronic illness, and lower susceptibility to common ‘bugs’ such as cold and flu.

Now consider these results alongside some groundbreaking research in Africa into the health outcomes of vaccinating children. For the first time, researchers have been studying the overall effects (“non-specific effects”) of each vaccine, as it relates to the rate of childhood mortality and to general robustness of the immune system. The results of this research are summarized by key researcher Dr. Christine Stabell Benn, in an Jan. 11th, 2019 article, “Vaccines have health effects beyond protecting against target diseases“, which includes a link to her surprising TED talk, entitled “How vaccines train the immune system in ways no one expected“. Dr. Stabell Benn’s talk highlights the striking results of the live polio vaccine given in the first week of life. This was found to significantly reduce childhood mortality and resulted in babies and children being better able to fight off other viruses, not just polio.

Further research by these teams showed similar general health benefits from all three of the live vaccines studied (the others being BCG for tuberculosis, and measles). These beneficial effects happened when the baby encountered these live microbes at specific times during their development, not just at any time.

Stabell Benn goes on to say that, conversely, their research has found significantly lowered health, and much higher infant mortality, resulting from all of the inactivated (non-live) vaccines. In the United States, the majority of the vaccines given are inactivated, including the polio vaccine. Stabell-Benn’s research thus implies that no general immune system development is resulting from most of the vaccines we are using; instead these vaccines are creating poorer general health outcomes for children.  Meanwhile serious questions remain to be resolved about the safety of our live vaccines, including MMR, such as the effects of toxic ingredients like aluminum, as well as, according to Stabell Benn’s research, the effects of age and sex of the child (or adult) receiving the vaccine.

In the case of the live vaccines, what exactly is happening? We don’t know yet. But Kate Birch, founder of Free and Healthy Children International, as a result of her many-years investigation into infectious disease and homeoprophylaxis, and her deep exploration into the world of the intestinal lining and its relationship to the immune system, has some interesting ideas.

Let us consider polio. Kate points out that prior to the modern era of widespread sanitation, polio was always present in the environment, and infants would encounter it almost as soon as they came into the world. Polio seems to have appeared in ancient Egypt, at around the same time that humans settled into agrarian society and began raising and eating wheat. Gluten, the protein in wheat, is very poorly digestible. If it passes into the blood stream through the wall of the intestine, it leads to inflammatory and allergic responses in the body. Kate believes that exposure to the polio virus and other RNA viruses have the effect of lowering the hormone zonulin. Zonulin is produced in the intestine, and opens up the junctions in the intestinal wall that allow nutrients to pass into the blood stream. By having lower zonulin levels, these junctions are tighter, so that large, undigested molecules such as gluten cannot pass through. This is protective not only against gluten but many other pathogens and toxins. Conversely, inappropriately timed vaccines, inactivated vaccines, and toxins in our environment such as glyphosate (Round-Up), raise zonulin levels and cause the junctions in the gut lining to be too open, with disastrous effects on overall health, including for our brains and nervous systems.

When our gut lining is ‘wide open’, our vagus nerve is affected, leading to intense symptoms of anxiety and fear. Interestingly, one of the main symptoms of homeopathic patients who need polio as a homeopathic remedy is intense anxiety and fear.

Perhaps there has been a circular effect: once we cut ourselves off from our evolutionary relationship with polio (probably through sanitation), we opened our society not only to much more chronic inflammatory disease, but also to high levels of anxiety and fear. Disease is near the top of our list of things we most intensely fear. And in general, we fear many other things relating to what is ‘not me’ in the world, with broad political and sociological ramifications.

The function of the immune system is, in a general way, to discern, what is me, and what is not me? What do I accept into myself? When something is present that is not me, how can I come into balance and co-exist with it?

This lesson of discernment and integration which we can see at the body’s cellular level may in fact relate to the same general lesson for us as human beings functioning in the world, the outer reflecting the inner. This seems especially likely if we consider the mysterious connection between body and mind, in which our body conditions can be seen to reflect what is going on in our psyche. If our body comes to reflect our psyche, it may be that our psyche equally reflects the condition of our body. This would apply not only to negative mental emotional effects from dis-ease created by unhealed trauma or unresolved illness, but to larger, life benefits of lessons learned and strengths acquired by the body. In this way, the education of the immune system, and our vital force itself – the core intelligence of our physical health – may have big implications for who we become as people.

Nature always seems to provide us with a way to come back into balance, once we realize where we’ve gone astray. We are discovering that homeoprophylaxis can re-pattern our relationship with disease microbes. It does this safely, not through live vaccines but through working with the homeopathic remedies made from these diseases. These remedies, called ‘nosodes’, provide our body with the same energetic patterns, the same set of information, as the microbes themselves. This means that our bodies receive the same ‘education’ benefits as they would from the microbe, without having to contract the disease. This includes developing a healthy gut lining. It means lowering our rates of chronic disease, autoimmunity, inflammation. It means re-balancing our healthy microbiome. We are finding that these benefits are available whether we are young or old, previously vaccinated or not.

Through our work with HP we feel we can ultimately play a role in healing our society, as the population is increasingly able to integrate the health and life ‘lessons’ provided by the microbes that challenge us. Maybe of top importance to our world today, through work with polio and other viruses, we can lower our levels of paralyzing anxiety and fear, as we rediscover our place in nature.

HP in Flu Season

by Umangini Desai, CCH, RSHOM (NA), BHMS, Ann Arbor, MI

It seems we cannot go anywhere these days without getting the push to get a flu shot – including your own living room — thanks to those new TV commercials shown on every break. Unfortunately, the media isn’t the only one encouraging us to get the shot this year.

Schools, workplaces, stores and pharmacies all now set up clinics providing free flu vaccines for all. Stores across the country offer store coupons as an incentive to get the vaccine there. The point is, we as a society, are constantly bombarded with the message that we NEED a flu shot. And not just that, we will be rewarded when we do.

This repetitive messaging seems to be working. It was interesting that during a cross-country carpool, all the children in my car were talking amongst themselves about the flu shot. The conversation went a little something like this:

Kid A: mentioned, “I have to get the flu shot – even though I don’t like it.”

Kid B: said, “I don’t get the flu shot, but my mom (a homeopath) gives me these tiny pills,  and it should prevent the flu,and I’m glad that I don’t have to take the shot. ”

Kid A: said, “Really?? It couldn’t be, because you HAVE TO get the shot.”

Kid B: mentioned, “Well, ask my mom then.”

These are smart and curious kids, who understood my suggestions. Listening to that conversation between the kids inspired me to write this blog. I explained to the kids that you have to be responsible for having good hygiene, washing your hands, sleeping properly, hydrating regularly, and being positive –which will help with stress responses.

No matter where you stand on the flu shot, kids need to be educated that they have the ability to choose for their health. This is the message that should be bombarding our society. Instead, what are we ingraining in their brain? It is the scare tactic that they must get a flu shot.

So, what do I do to keep families healthy without the shot? Homeoprophylaxis. I discovered this protocol after my daughter had a bad reaction to one of the standard vaccines. It was out of FEAR of the infectious disease that I found the gem in my own therapy.

What is Homeoprophylaxis? Homeoprophylaxis has been used in underdeveloped countries with full success. Without going too deeply into the details, the goal of HP is to give the developing immune system a mild immunological stimulation. This can be done to educate the body towards a variety of infectious disease processes using homeopathic nosodes.

A nosode is a homeopathically attenuated, ultra-diluted preparation of a pure disease agent. Each child responds to this stimulation in her/his own way based on their unique susceptibility. A normal immune response can include fever, fussiness, and discharge based on the symptom characteristics of the nosode given.

As there is no actual disease agent in the nosode, it is normal for this mini-immunological expression of the general, innate immune system to pass on its own within 12-24 hours of taking the remedy. This immunological rehearsal, or education process, is what builds disease resistance.

Where can I find the correct nosode & HP for the flu? Every year, the new flu strains are identified and used by a homeopathic pharmacy that follows the HPUS (Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of he United States) and FDA rules to make a homeopathic remedy. The nosodes will usually be available by the 1st of the November each year.

Influenzinum is this homeopathic nosode, which can be used for education of the immune system. Its use should be supervised by certified classical homeopath who understand advanced homeopathy and homeoprophylaxis. This homeopathic remedy is made from the season’s inactivated influenza vaccine. This homeopathic preparation provides natural support to:

– strengthen the body and increase its resistance to the season’s flu viruses,
– protect against cold & flu symptoms such as body aches, nausea, chills, fever, headaches, sore throat, coughs, and congestion,
– enforce the flu vaccine’s action if you have opted for the flu shot,
– deal with aftereffects of the flu, and
– alleviate adverse effects of the flu shot

Who uses HP? HP for world travel

Anke Zimmermann, BSc, FCAH, Sooke, British Columbia

In April of 2017, I was contacted by the parents of a 19-year-old girl who was planning to spend a year traveling throughout Southeast Asia after high school starting the next September.  This young lady had never been vaccinated in her life.

Both she and her mother were concerned about this and of potentially being exposed to infectious diseases in Asia. They were particularly concerned about measles, as she also had never had a natural case of the measles. She did have natural mumps and whooping cough as a child so the family was not concerned about those infections.

The travel vaccine service had recommended she receive Hepatitis A and B vaccines, a Typhoid vaccine, a combined Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio vaccine, as well as the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine. In addition, the service recommended vaccines for rabies and Japanese Encephalitis.

This was obviously quite a long list, and it was not to the liking of either the client or her parents. Instead, they wanted to opt for homeoprophylaxis (HP) to educate the client’s immune system around the diseases for which the vaccines were recommended.

Fortunately, the family had given themselves lots of time to prepare, as it takes several doses of the HP remedies to create the most effective immune system education. We generally give only one remedy at a time so adequate time to do this is important.

We decided to stagger the remedies, giving one disease remedy every two weeks in 200CH potency and sending additional remedies with her on her travels to repeat the series. I also suggested a homeopathic first aid kit to take along and advised her on the use of remedies for food poisoning, insect bites, sunburns and minor injuries and infections.

I am happy to report that the young lady had a successful one-year-long, working travel adventure, which included Bali, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia. Remarkably, she never got sick with anything, not even traveler’s diarrhea. Of course, we cannot be sure that was due to the HP, but it at the very least, it provided an increased level of peace of mind for the family.

Homeoprophylaxis as a Public Healthcare Model

By Kate Birch RSHom(NA, CCH, HP Supervisor MN

In December of 2008 I had the amazing opportunity to speak at an international

Cuba

Hurricane season in Cuba

conference in Havana, Cuba, on the subject of the Role of Government in Infectious Disease Prevention. The Carlos J. Finlay Institute (A Cuban World Health Organization approved vaccine manufacturer) hosted NOSODES2008,[i] an International Meeting on Homeoprophylaxis (HP), Homeopathic Immunization, and Nosodes for Epidemics. Representatives from twelve different countries spoke on a variety of programs demonstrating the efficacy of homeopathy for infectious disease.

As the conference progressed, and speaker after speaker, from most every continent of the world, presented their papers it was easy to see that those of us who share the vision of the global application of homeopathy, for the prevention and treatment of infectious contagious disease, now had before us tangible and successful methodologies by which it could be applied.

Cuba has long been extoled as having one of the best medical systems in the world. Dr. Gustavo Bracho and Dr. Conception Campa Huergo, of the Finlay Institute  (created the first ever meningococcal vaccine) have been respected worldwide for their excellence and diligence to the scientific method. They have published articles in respected Medical journals for the last 20 years.

Under the direction of the Vice Ministry of the Ministry of Health known as Direccion Nacional de Medicina Natural y Tradicional, studies into the homeopathic prevention of Leptospirosis were made. The Cuban Health Ministry had been studying incidence rates of Leptospirosis since 1981. They had observed that incidence rates go up according to rain fall, and with flooding or natural disasters. The Finlay Institute had developed a vaccine for Leptospirosis but despite its use, disease incidence had remained the same. In 2007 and 2008 Cuba was struck by Hurricanes Noel and Dean, Gustav and Ike respectively.  In preparation for the extensive flooding, and subsequent increase in incidence of leptospirosis that was to follow, The Cuban Ministry set the task to inoculate three of the most vulnerable eastern provinces with nosoLEP, (a homeopathic preparation of 4 strains of leptospirosis). As compared to the rest of the country, which was used as the control, leptospirosis incidence was reduced by 84% while incidence rose by 21% in the rest of the country over the same time period.[ii] For reasons I can only surmise not a single conventional medical journal would publish this undeniably favorable outcome of homeoprophylaxis.

One of the other papers presented at the conference was the results of the world’s largest long-term study trial of homeoprophylaxis for childhood infectious contagious diseases. This program was developed by Dr. Isaac Golden, PhD, D.Hom., N.D., of Australia. Some 3000 individuals participated in his HP program. He found that the efficacy of HP was higher than that of vaccination. Furthermore his results demonstrated that children who underwent the program were also statistically healthier than those who are vaccinated or received no treatment or prevention at all.[iii]

As I have researched the subject more in the last few years I have come across numerous studies around the world demonstrating the effectiveness of HP in a variety of diseases: Polio,[iv] cholera,[v] Dengue,[vi]  Meningitis, [vii] and Diphtheria.[viii] ,[ix], [x] With these results in hand and due to increased concern over possible lack of safety with vaccination I knew I needed to make available in North America the same HP program.

Correspondingly, due to growing numbers of parents with concerns over vaccines, studies on the effects of vaccines[xi],[xii] and 2011 autism statistics released by the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS[xiii]) parents are actively seeking out alternative methods of disease prevention. In hopes to satisfy their obligation to society by participating in public health care campaigns to keep disease incidence down, many parents are looking to HP as an alternative to the regular vaccine schedule.

Under the auspices of further research into the effectiveness and efficacy of HP, Cilla Whatcott and I have embarked upon the task of educating Homeopaths to supervisor their clientele throughout North America.  We currently have over 300 children participating. All participation is voluntarily and supervised by a trained homeopath. We have written the book, The Solution ~homeoprophylaxis: The Vaccine Alternative to serve as a guide to understanding how HP works in the developing immune system.

What we have come to learn is that the primary goal of HP is to educate the immune system to a variety of infectious agents, in so doing, disease incidence goes down. This goal differs from that of vaccination programs which are more about trying to eradicate disease regardless of the consequence in the immune system of the individual. The nosodes used for HP are prepared according to the HPUS a branch of the FDA. In their preparation, they have been serially diluted and succussed so as to reduce their crude form to energetic.  Dr. Luc Montagnier, The French Nobel Prize winner for his discovery of the HIV virus, has been working for the last eight years on the ramifications of his findings that diluted solutions of infectious agents emit the same frequency as the original agent does.[xiv] His findings give a possible explanation of how dilute preparations of disease agents can stimulate biological action and accordingly have the potential to produce immunity and alter disease incidence.

How are babies’ immune systems different?

by Amber Currie, CCH RSHom C.HP, Loveland, Colorado

Your healthy, adult body knows how to accurately identify problem microbes, run a fever to stop the growth of viruses and bacteria, and kill infected cells. Isn’t that amazing! Our children’s bodies need to go through a years-long process to complete its education on these things.

There is a big difference between babies’ immune systems and adult immune systems. This article will discuss some of the current thinking on immune system development from recent research. The implications of these discoveries is up for debate, of course, but the mechanisms less so.

At the beginning of life, the immune system’s main job is to identify the proteins and tissues of baby’s own body, as well as other things that belong in that body. These include the microbes that make up a healthy microbiome. Babies do not start developing antibodies to fight infections on their own for some time. They start doing this at a very slow rate beginning at two to six months of age, gradually increasing this ability over the years until age 4 or 5, when the ability is fully developed.

There are two branches of the immune system. The first one is the General or Innate branch. It is present at birth, but it is weak. This part of the immune system does things like produce a fever, flush out germs by producing mucus, and use several kinds of cells to kill pathogens.

This weakness of the immune system in a newborn is the price paid in order to survive the environment of the mother’s body and allow later development of a fully functional immune system. It would be a real problem if the baby’s immune system started attacking mom en utero, because she was full of proteins the baby’s body did not recognize.

This weak immune function also allows implantation of bacteria, viruses, and fungi encountered during the birth process that will form the baby’s microbiome. These microbes play a critical role in the training and ultimate function of the child’s immune system, according to research published by National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The newborn human immune system functions perfectly to allow this implantation to occur. In adults with competent immune systems, a large percentage of their immune function will be due to function of this microbiome.

Because of the weak immune system at birth, babies are also highly dependent upon the antibodies provided by mothers via breast milk. Their bodies are trying to adapt to the world in which they now live with a peaceful state that doesn’t involve a much fighting by their immune systems.

It is amazing that a mother can transfer antibodies to protect her tiny infant against something she was infected with 20 or 30 years ago. Natural infections usually lead to life-long immune memory. Unfortunately, a mother who avoided contagious childhood infection in her youth and did not develop antibodies to that infection cannot transfer those specific, protective antibodies to her baby. Mothers who develop well educated immune systems benefit their newborns significantly.

Then there’s the second branch of the immune system: the Specific or Adaptive branch – the part of the immune system that adapts to develop antibodies to specific pathogens it encounters in life. T cells are one important part of the Specific Immune System. They are plentiful at birth, but in infants they don’t act like adult T-cells. Instead, they actively promote self-tolerance. They train the body what to NOT attack.

There are two classes of T cells: Th1 cells and Th2 cells. Activation of T cells very early in life, such as by vaccination or other means, results in a response skewed towards Th2 immunity. Many researchers regard an allergic constitution as a Th2 weighted imbalance, according an article published in the British Medical Journal.

In a mature immune system, Th2 cells act primarily as the scanning function of the immune system to identify the presence of foreign antigens in the body. An antigen is any substance which cannot be integrated into the body’s inner environment. When that happens, the Th2 system tags it as a problem, and it creates antibodies which tell the body to respond protectively whenever it sees that again.

The Th1 function of the system is primarily to destroy, digest, and expel foreign antigens from the body using cells found in the thymus, tonsils, adenoids, spleen, lymph nodes, and lymph system.

This process of destroying, digesting, and discharging foreign material is accompanied by the signs of inflammation—fever, skin rash, diarrhea, and mucus or pus. No mother likes to see these, but they are actually a result of the immune system functioning as it should. These symptoms tell us that our immune system is working to ‘take out the trash’ so to speak from our body.

It’s good housekeeping. We don’t like it, but it surely is useful.

So that’s an overview of the immune system in babies and young children. For anyone who has seen children through the process of immune system maturation, you know it can be dramatic. The results for good or ill are often life-long.

Now comes the big question. How do we apply what we have learned about developing immune systems to help our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren generate the best outcomes for life- long health? This is a particular challenge in a culture that works hard to keep children from any type of illness. Free and Healthy Children believes it has at least one good answer.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Hahnemann!

Hahnemann Statue

Homeopathy is the only system of medicine that stimulates and assists the body’s healing system to regain health by giving an energetic stimulus to the vital force that is similar to the symptoms the suffering person has.
Our founder of Homeopathy, Dr Samuel Hahnemann was born April 10th, 1755. His book, The Organon of Medicine, is still the book that all homeopaths follow regarding the application of Homeopathy.  Homeopaths treat the person that has symptoms, physical, mental and emotional that create a change in their state of being from their healthy state.
Why Homeopathy?
The word is Greek meaning similar suffering. What Dr. Hahnemann discovered is that the symptoms medicines cause in healthy people, are the same symptoms that will be stimulated to resolve in the person that is suffering from those symptoms.
Our life force, the vital spirit that is life, receives trauma or blocks in health, from heredity or in form of infection, injury, humiliation, embarrassment, fright, violence, unhealthy housing, inadequate nutrition, unhealthy work environments. The vital force is out of balance and this shows itself as sensations, feelings and symptoms, eventually leading to pathology. Because homeopathic medicines, called remedies, are energetic in nature they cannot be and are never toxic. They are an energetic stimulus for the immune system to oppose the information and regain balance – health.
Dr Hahnemann also learned that these remedies can prevent disease and infections. This branch of Homeopathy is called Homeoprophylaxis.

Think of cutting an onion, the burning, the tears, the snotty nose…….sounds like the symptoms of hay fever….and homeopathically prepared onion (Allium cepa) can ease the symptoms of hay fever and colds, if the symptoms are similar.

Dr Hahnemann worked with about 200-300 remedies, today there are about 4000 remedies available. None have ever been removed, in fact new remedies are always being discovered.

Millions of people worldwide use homeopathy, it works for over 200 million people each year!

  • In England close to 8 million people use Homeopathy, including Queen Elizabeth and her family, because it works.
  • Homeopathy is covered by insurance or is part of the national health systems in England, Germany, France, Switzerland, India, and Brazil.
  • India has 100 million people that use homeopathy for their primary medical care.
  • In Europe 100 million people use homeopathic medicines.
  • Brazil, Cuba and India use Homeoprophylaxis successfully to stop and prevent epidemics.

Homeopathy is the 2nd most used system of medicine in the world. If you’re curious to learn how Homeopathy can help you, read more on this website and at the National Center for Homeopathy and at World Homeopathy Awareness Week.

6. Sharing our Stories: Real Families Discuss HP – Renee

By Deborah Landowne, CCH, California HP Supervisor.

Homeoprophylaxis, aka: HP, is a a way to educate the immune system toward the infectious disease process. Free and Healthy Children International (FHCi) offers a 44 month program using homeopathic remedies called “nosodes” to stimulate and educate the immune system toward the infectious disease process.  Nosodes are made from pure disease agents only, no adjuvants, growth mediums or preservatives.

We often get asked by parents seeking out HP: Is there a way to connect with other families who have experience with the program? Prospective parents, and also those whose children are already enrolled, want to know: What is this going to be like?  As HP Supervisors, we can describe the program and what to expect, but it is always better to hear from your peers.

Six parents have graciously taken the time to speak with FHCi and share their experiences to help the community. All names have been changed for this post.

We hope these stories inspire you.

If you’d like to share your own experience with HP, please Submit here.  Thanks to all of these parents for helping to educate others, and to all of our Member Families for being a part of our community!

“Renee” Lives in  MN. She has 2 girls, ages 5 and 7 years.

“When my 1st daughter was born they said she needed the Hepatitis B vaccine. I thought, what?! She’s hours old and you want to vaccinate her for a sexually transmitted disease?

“I’m married and monogamous, why would you give this to a newborn? It felt wrong, but lots of people said I had to, so I did it and started vaccinating her. I thought: You want to give my little, tiny, 3 month old all of those shots at once? I felt lots of pressure from the doctor and my family, but it felt really wrong. I didn’t know there was another option.

“I struggled with post-partum depression. I teach and a student of mine was studying homeopathy and wanted to help me with that. Through that, she talked about HP and OMG! That’s exactly what I want!

“With baby #2 I talked to my husband, he said they need some protection if they are not vaccinated. So, I said:  Here’s some information about HP! It has been absolutely the best thing. They are so healthy and vital.  If something comes into the house they get a sniffly nose and a fever, their body responds. My kids are ages 5 and 7. Most kids their age spend weeks out of school when they get sick. Mine do not. They have a ton of energy; their skin and eyes always look good; they are really healthy. I attribute this to the HP Program.

“Our original homeopath was a little, shall I say, fanatical about vaccinations and I couldn’t handle that energy. I’m on board with that and don’t believe in vaccination, but if others do, that is great. This is just what I choose.  So I found another homeopath, who is also a nurse. She has the best of both worlds. I can heal my family with food, supplements, essential oils, chiropractic, and homeopathy. But if you break a bone you better go to the ER! I want to be a part of both worlds to keep my family healthy, and we don’t need a hard line between them.  Granted, every time we go to the pediatrician, I love him, because he’s the same way – you can do it this way or, if you want antibiotics I can do that for you. I prefer a natural approach but sometimes you need a little help.

“I read The Solution ~ Homeoprophylaxis: The Vaccine Alternative before we decided what to do, but I already knew HP was what I was looking for. I want to train their bodies to be intelligent, and I see it. When they get sick, I look to see what the last remedy was and what the next one is and we will dose with that. It pushes the sickness right out. My husband and I use homeopathy too, he has to get tested for glaucoma, so he talked to the homeopath about that. She put him on a remedy and his pressures went down, big time. Now he’s a believer!

“Doing the program is the simplest thing ever. I don’t have to leave my house for a doctor’s appointment and pay an excessive amount of money to have them poison my children. Everything you need is in the HP Program Booklet. Sometimes when the kids get sick we use something besides HP to get them through it. For example, my oldest has school anxiety, so she’s on a weekly remedy. She knows what it is for and is completely willing to go along.  If we gave her an anxiety medication it would change who she is. Homeopathy doesn’t change anything about them, it makes them stronger. My kids can’t verbalize what it is but they understand on some level what it does for them.

‘There was one response to a nosode, but all I had to do was dose her again and it went straight out. She slept for a day and that was all. With every dose they get stronger. My kids are ages 7 and 5 and have completed the 4 year HP program. We started it as soon as we found it, when they were ages 1 and 3. We stopped vaccinating after our 2nd child was born. My oldest had the 1st round of shots, and then I was done with that.

“How do people not know about this program? I tell people about it all the time and you can tell if they are willing to listen or not. I tell moms all the time. I just don’t get how do they do not know about this. If people knew there’d be no question about it. I think like half of the moms would be doing it.

“I am so on board with this! Every time I fill out the stupid school exemption sheet I write on it: They are ‘vaccinated’! …all over it with a big sharpie!”

5. Sharing our Stories: Real Families Discuss HP – Nancy

5. “Nancy”  Lives in Florida 2 with two children, ages 3 years and 7 months.

“I was quite ill when I was a teen and did a bunch of conventional medicine. That didn’t

I’m an HP mom and these are my HP kids!

cure me; it made me worse.  An alternative medical doctor cured me. So, when I was pregnant with my 1st child I was still under his care, and we would talk about many things to do with babies. He said no vaccines for you or the babies. He treats kids with vaccine side effects, and with great success. It is sad to be in the waiting room and see who he treats and know this could be prevented by not vaccinating.

“I did research when I was pregnant and read a book about each vaccine, including all the ingredients. I was horrified! My husband wanted to vaccinate, however. I spent lots of time on the research and told him he needed to do the same, and if he doesn’t then I get to make the decision. This is scary stuff. I was uncomfortable not doing anything, and felt I have to protect them somehow. I did not want to just not vaccinate. The doctor suggested I read about HP because he’s seen results, and that people are happy who use it.

“We started the program with my son at 7 months. Its been great! There were no responses, except a little sleep disturbance or a runny nose.  Even then we were not even sure if that was from the nosodes. We have our daughter on the program too, she started earlier because we had a measles outbreak so we gave that nosode right away when she was 2 months old. She was supposed to start the program at 3 months so we just kept going.

“It was a little complicated to dose on Sundays, so we do it on Mondays instead. That is a better day for us. I don’t use the booklets; I keep everything on my phone, including all the notes.  I have it with me all the time so that is easier. I move a lot for work so the phone is much easier for me than carrying the books. Also I haven’t given them pellets, I dose it in water.  That is easier for me, especially with the baby.  I use a syringe and I’ll do the single dose when they are asleep. That way their stomach is empty and they won’t eat anything too soon after the remedy, so it is easier to manage. I’ve given pellets of Arnica in the past and my son chews on them, so I prefer to do a solution with the nosodes.

“I’ve enrolled 3 people and know lots of people with kids.  A family member of mine is paralyzed from the HPV vaccine, so I want to raise the awareness for everyone I know. I am totally down with speaking about this to other people. HP is so easy and it’s cheaper than vaccines, too. Our pediatrician is against not vaccinating, but he respects what we are doing. We have not given our kids any vaccines and don’t plan on doing any, but I am not sure what we will do about school.  Lots of kids at our daycare are not vaccinated either.

“Doing HP is pretty easy, I’ve not had any challenges. I don’t think about it so much, its on the calendar and I get reminders.  You just have to remember to do it, that’s it. I felt bad about not dosing with everyone else on Sundays for a while, but I got over that.  I am very happy with all of this, of course!”

FHCi Comment: It is normal to get a mild immune response (fever, fussiness and/or discharge) after a nosode if there is susceptibility to that disease. The greater the susceptibility the stronger or more prolonged the reaction is. Repeated dosing of the same nosode helps to strengthen the child’s immune system so they no longer have susceptibility and therefore will likely not contract the natural disease. The immune response generated serves to develop balance with that disease process. All children have some susceptibility to childhood infectious disease and susceptibility can be age dependent. While nursing, if the mother had the disease she has antibodies that will protect the child. Susceptibility to contracting measles starts at about 1 year of age. This is why the MMR vaccine is not given until that time as infants’ immune systems do not know how to make antibodies to measles. That said, it is safe to give the HP nosode of measles (Morbillinum) at any time. It can also be given to nursing moms to help boost their immunity – which gets passed on through their milk.
